Projects are temporary endeavors undertaken to create a new product or service, which involves large capital investments. Managing these projects requires the application of various knowledge skills, tools and techniques in order to meet stakeholder needs and expectations. This involves balancing competing demands among scope, time, cost and quality as well as meeting differing needs and expectations of various stakeholders.

Project management breaks down the chaos of an overwhelming workload into manageable elements - scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communication, risk, procurement, and integration.

This modular designed course aims to develop an understanding of the tools & techniques for effective management of resources & cost in projects; provides an insight into project leadership and risk management and acquaints participants with computerized project management systems.

Professor Devinder Kumar Banwet, FIE, former Head of the Department of Management Studies (DMS),group chair operations & SCM and former Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Programme at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi . He is currently the Co-ordinator of Applied Systems Research Programme at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He currently holds the group Dalmia Chair Professor, Chair of Operations Management at the Department of Management Studies.

Prof. Banwet has more than 30 years of professional experience & is a Teacher, Researcher, Trainer, Administrator and Consultant. His expertise is in the field of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management, which comprises Manufacturing, Information Technology, Production & Operations, Industrial Systems Engineering, Project Management, Management Science & Strategic Technology Management, Supply Chain Management, TQM etc. He has been consultant for RITES, IRCON, BEL, BHEL, CDOT, CMC, IOC, DCM, SONDICO, Maruti etc.

Undergraduates (Final Year) of engineering, Architecture, BCA, BBA.
MCA, MBA, B.Sc., M.Sc.
Diploma Holder with 2 years of work experience in relevant areas

Screening on the basis of academic records and experience.

Certificate of Participation will be provided by CEP of IIT Delhi after successful completion of the course and payment of all dues.
